Relaxed, Natural Photography

Sarah Cook | Wedding Photographer & Coach

About Me

Hello,

I am Sarah, a wedding photographer based near Aberystwyth, Ceredigion. I have photographed weddings all over the UK for more than twenty years. My style of photography is natural and relaxed. I shoot a blend of documentary and editorial styles that tell the story of each wedding I photograph.

I like to spend time with you before the ‘big’ day, getting to know you and what makes you tick. Together we build a picture that helps me tap into your wedding vibe so that I can capture the true feelings and emotions of your wedding day.

Whether I am photographing a wedding day or coaching a wedding photographer who is just starting out in the business, I believe it is important that you feel I am the right fit for you. Therefore, I invite you to book a discovery call with me so we can have a chat.

Your day …  Your vibe …  My lens …

Why I Love Weddings

Wedding days are full of emotion, love and hope. As a wedding photographer I get to capture it all, from the quiet intimate moments to the full blown chaos.

Every wedding is a unique story unfolding in real time.

There is something magical about being entrusted to capture a wedding day for a couple.I don’t take that lightly. I document moments that will live on for generations – a father seeing his daughter in her dress for the first time, two people’s ‘forever’ promises, wedding guests sharing the joy. It is always an honour to be a part of this.

I love the connection I have with my couples, with their families and friends, and with the moment. Telling their unique story in a collection of images.

I guess not too many people can say, “I love my job”.

My photography journey began when I was an eighteen year old student of journalism. I was handed a 35mm camera and a roll of black and white film. My brief was simple, to tell a story in a single image. From the moment I held that camera I was hooked.

Over the years this love for photography has developed into something deeper. My photographs tell stories, they are my view of the world, they are how I express emotion without words.  Whether I am shooting a wedding for a client or capturing abstract imagery, my photography is my voice.

Beyond the Lens

These days you can find me in beautiful West Wales.  I live on a smallholding with my lovely partner, Dora my black lab, eleven sheep, two piggies and several chooks.  It is a special place to come home to.

Although, I am now based near Aberystwyth,  I have lived in and travelled to some amazing places over the years.  Arizona holds a special place in my heart, it is the place where my technical skills as a photographer developed.  I still miss that beautiful desert light.

I love nature and the countryside and when I am not busy on a commission or coaching, I can usually be found in West Wales walking on the beach or in the mountains.  In the last few years I have enjoyed creating a catalogue of personal works. My personal photography work reflects a strong focus on Intentional Cameral Movement (ICM), abstract compositions and delicate flower photography.

A selection of my work is now available for purchase in my shop.
