Llanerchaeron
Lydia and Lee chose historic Llanerchaeron for their wedding day. This wonderful location is nestled in the Aeron Valley near Aberaeron in West Wales. Now owned by the National Trust this traditional Welsh country estate is an ideal backdrop for a wedding day.

The elegant, Georgian villa at Llanerchaeron was originally designed by the famous architect John Nash in 1790. It stands in 760 acres of parkland, with farm buildings, a walled garden and a lake.

The photograph of Lydia and Lee above, is the view imagined by John Nash himself when he designed the house. At this angle you can view the entire villa and St Non's Church.

The couple wanted a simple celebration with close friends and family for their civil ceremony. The carriage house with its cobbled courtyard provides a unique setting for Lydia and Lee to 'tie the knot'.
On arrival I met up with Lee who was putting the finishing touches to the carriage house. We were both a little anxious about the weather due to the arrival of Storm Amy. The rain held off and there was plenty of time to capture the Groom with his family and friends.
Lydia arrived with her family, she looked amazing.
The ceremony was warm and heartfelt. Lydia's Dad proudly escorted his daughter down the aisle and with a small group of loved ones around them, Lydia and Lee exchanged their vows.
Congratulations Mr & Mrs Smith.
After the ceremony, we took time for some portraits. The gardens at Llanerchaeron are a joy at any time of the year. At our planning meeting we had set plenty of time aside for these photographs. Although I was only spending a short time with the couple on their wedding day I wanted to capture them in the walled garden, by the lake and in front of the Georgian villa. This venue is such a great location to work in. There are numerous ideal settings and perfect backdrops for photographs. It is hard to just select a few!

Always my favourite part of a wedding day is the time I get to capture those first photos of a couple as they begin their married life together.

I love Lydia's bridal bouquet of dried flowers by Winnie & Olive. A selection of British grown flowers and grasses in natural, earthy colours for Autumn. The gorgeous bouquets, buttonholes and table arrangements, highlighting the changing season, complimented the day perfectly.
The soft autumn light was ideal, however the tail end of storm Amy left some of the grounds by the lake out of bounds for photographs.
After some photographs with family and friends in the courtyard garden it was time for everyone to depart for further celebrations at Y Seler in Aberaeron.

Llanerchaeron provided a tranquil and lovely setting, it was the perfect choice for Lydia and Lee's small wedding.

Capturing these intimate moments for a couple is always an honour. Small, intimate weddings like this one show the true essence of a couple’s love. Every glance, every touch, speaks volumes. Lydia and Lee’s wedding day was one to remember, and their photos will keep those memories alive forever.

If you are planning a wedding at Llanerchaeron please get in touch if you would like me to capture your day.
